Summer Fun (Saint Louis, 2018)

Summer Fun (Saint Louis, 2018)

Borrowing the idea from our friends James and Julie, a few years back we decided to start including humorous "kid quips" with our annual Christmas letter.  Though the kids continue to offer up hilarious commentary throughout the year, we did not do a very good job of writing them down in 2018 (with the result that the list is pretty short this year). We have resolved to be more vigilant in the year to come, and hope that these will tide you over!

  • Ella, from the backseat “This is not the shortcut, Dad, this is the long cut.”

  • Truman, also from the backseat, “I’m feeling dehydrated and defoodinated.”

  • August, yet again, from the backseat, “Turn on the air, I am getting overheated!”

  • Ella, on her growing menagerie, “I have a teenage snail, a grown-up snail, and a baby snail!”

  • Truman, after ordering chocolate “pudding” at Disney World, then reading the menu, “Wait, there’s moose in the pudding!?”

  • August, on his way to school (where he is in the 5th grade), “Hey, look, a tuttle is on the side of the road.” Andrea, “You mean turtle?” August, “Wait…what? What is a turtle?” After a long pause, “It’s called a turtle?”
