A few years back, Aaron began to take a meaningful interest in “the art of the cocktail.” Though he remains a novice mixologist at best, he does regularly try his hand at various traditional and contemporary drinks, with a decided preference for spirit-forward cocktails featuring whiskey. At one point, he was asked if he would be interested in creating a new drink for a holiday gathering that he and Andie were attending, and he jumped at the opportunity. The result was the Stocking Stuffer, which is the first cocktail featured below. As additional inspiration strikes, we’ll add to this page. Merry Christmas, and enjoy responsibly!

The Stocking Stuffer
Ingredients
1 tbsp cranberry sauce (from the can)
.25 oz lime
1.5 oz High West Double Rye Whiskey
2 dashes angostura orange bitters
.5 oz simple syrup
Whole milk
Dash of angostura aromatic bitters
Instructions
Place cranberry sauce, lime, whiskey, orange bitters, and simple syrup in shaker with ice; shake hard for a 12 count. Strain into an old fashioned glass (or similar), top with cold milk foam and dash of angostura aromatic bitters.
While this recipe uses rye whiskey as its base, the drink also works well if you substitute vodka or gin.
